about the wild rumpus

circa 1989

I have wanted to be a mommy for my whole life.

I put myself, my husband, and my marriage through hell to conceive a child. I was humiliated, cut open, probed all over, poked with hundreds of needles, and medicated into sheer hormonal madness. All of this while watching my friends desert me, one at a time. You can read all of the gory details here. The journey through infertility treatments, especially IVF, has changed me forever. I spent most of my pregnancy feeling terrified that something was going to go wrong.

My son was born in May of 2012 and being a mom has been the most amazing experience of my life. I can’t describe to you how much it has changed me, for the better!

And then, out of the blue on June 14, 2013, we were surprised with a positive pregnancy test.

Let the wild rumpus start!
